7 things to do in Chiang Mai.
This is our bucket list of seven ideas you can try if you are in Chiang Mai this month. All but one are quite close to Seven Suns Residence. Ask our staff for directions and please remember, don't dehydrate and make sure you take some water to drink with you.

Feel like a Sunday evening snack? Try some insects.
Eating insects is something different and is something you can safely try in Chiang Mai.

The famous Sunday night market is the place where you will find an entire booth dedicated to edible bugs. All sorts of varieties are there including crickets, cicada, mealworms and beetles.

Chat with a Monk
While exploring the amazing Temples of Chiang Mai, there is an opportunity for a very unique experience. A few of the temples in the city have a “Monk Chat” program where curious visitors are able to speak to the monks about almost any aspect of life. This is the perfect opportunity to get insight into their lifestyle and beliefs. A popular Monk Chat temple is just around the corner from Seven Suns Residence. Arrange to visit Wat Chedi Luang or Wat Suan Dok.

Drink Refreshing Thai Iced Tea
Hot and bothered after a day running around? Try this refreshing drink. Also known as Cha Yen. Thai iced tea is one of the most refreshing drinks in the city. This strongly brewed tea is sweetened and then topped with condensed milk (or half and half). You won’t have to look far to find one, they can be ordered at almost any restaurant in Chiang Mai.

Try Khao Soi.

Khao soi, a northern Thai coconut curry soup which is an iconic part of the regions cuisine. It is made with a red curry, a splash of coconut milk, chicken and crunchy noodles on top.

The Elephant Nature Park is an elephant rescue and rehabilitation camp where visitors can get an  elephant education, as well as feed and bathe elephants in their care. The park is located just an hour from the Chiang Mai city center and they will even pick you up at your hotel to take you there.

Explore Wat Chedi Luang
Wat Chedi Luang is an eye-catching Buddhist temple that is centrally located inside the Chiang Mai city walls. A short walk from Seven Suns Residence.

It is worthy last of our bucket list to explore this temples large viharn (sermon hall), naga dragons at it’s doorstep and the ruined brick chedi that sits behind the grand assembly hall.

Rainy day activities

7 things to do if its raining:
i. Go to the cinema
ii. Get wetter and go swimming
iii. Go to one of the many shopping malls - some old and some really new.
iv. Go bowling 4th Floor Kad Suan Kaew Shopping Centre
v.  Do a cookery course
vi. Eat - so many places. You could even do a tour of the city by enjoying one dish here, and another there. Get the idea?
vii. Visit the  Old City Cultural  Center, and other heritage museums and centuries old temples.
